DETOUR 2011: Use-Less

Let the Ambassadors of Design take you to a creative, and not-so-useless detour around the theme Use-Less! Dedicated to highlight the impacts of irresponsible consumerism, DETOUR 2011 brings together an unprecedented lineup of creative concepts that stimulates conversations and inspires eco-living.

Over the course of 17 days, DETOUR attempts to juxtapose between right or wrong, eco or wasteful — through an hodgepodge of exhibitions, installations, performance, conferences, workshops and forums at the Former Police Married Quarters, together with a host of satellite events around town.

This isn't just another arty perspective on the imminent need to reduce, reuse and recycle; but a showcase of creativity, knowledge and attitude towards the subject. After all, we are all consumers. We consume to produce waste — and the cycle continues. Do you [use-less], or are you [useless]?
